I can only speak for me but my legs hurt almost like tooth aches. The feet both left and right shake, tremors, pain, jump around and toes hurt now and then mostly on the left side. My right foot is at this moment along with my chest which I do not think the chest is PD. Relief? Well, I take my meds, pain medication prescribed by the doctor and I put a cream (IcyHot Pain Relieving)on my chest, legs and feet and lay down (across two chairs) and if I take a pain med then I lay down in bed. More than once I have thought some of this is not PD (but haven't any idea what it is) and sometimes I think it is the meds. I am considering going back to Mayo who first told me I have PD. Rambling but I hope this helps. ~Dennis

I have terrible pain in my legs and toes all the tine.. It's like Dennis said it's like a. toothache. .I take krill oil called Mega Red. Here is the companies web site that I order it from.. schiffmegred.com. I also take Corvalen, which my doctor recommended. Their web site is douglaslabs.com. Someone on this web site recommended tumeric and I started using it too. I purchased it at a Grocery store that sold items from India, but you can also get it at a health food store. I think it would be best to check with his doctor or pharmacist before you let him try any of these.

I'd try one at a time to see which gives him the most relief. Massage usually helps too. Hope this will hel your husband.. Blessings.

Thank you so much for the info. I will try the Mega Red and see what the dr. says about the Corvalen. My husband can withstand a lot of pain but the leg issue pain is really bad, however, it does seem to come and go. Some days he's good and other days not so much. Trying to get him to the gym but it's hard for him.

My family doctor is a medical doctors that integrates alternative medicines and natural remedies into her practice., I just wanted to warn you that your neurologist my not know anything about Corvalen, You may want to go to their web site and bring some information about it with you. Let us know how it works out for your husband.

Blessings.

My right leg alternates between feeling like pulled muscles and radiates up into my lower back to a general numbness and tingling. I am still struggling with effective controls to at least lessen the symptoms. So far the only thing that has even offered marginal relief is a combination of not sitting still for too long and Icy Hot/BenGay rubs with occasional ibuprofen. BTW-I have the dystonia dominant Young Onset PD.

I also have pain in my back and legs, and also cramps in my right leg which is my tremor side. My toes also sometimes tingle and my legs feel like lead. It sounds worse than it is. I also suffer with burning in my feet accompanied by redness in my feet and ankle.

I take Ibuprofen for the pain and use Balmosa cream , available over the counter in a Pharmacist for the burning in my feet. I also try not to sit for long periods as find this makes things worse.

in reply to Court

Never heard of Balmosa cream but will check it out and see if it will help. Thanks for the suggestion.

my big toe on my left foot used to stand straight up and almost bending backwards when my sinamet was wearing off. then one day my doctor asked me not to take any meds so that she could run some tests. my daughter stayed with me to drive me to t he doctor. I went almost 6 hours, no meds, and the toe never again reacted that way. I do get tingley in the toes, and they mostly are numb....not good for your balance.......but I do lean to the right unless I take notice, and my neck and lower back have been HORRIBLE!!! but I will learn to live with each new pain, weakness or what ever..............the alternative sucks !!

I just can not figure out why my toe stopped doing that and it have been like that for over 11 years. strange..........but PD is strange. so many different ways that we are all affected.

I have med for restless leg syndrome that helps some at night though it knocks me out to sleep so I can't take it during the day. When not taking the med my legs hurt like I have jut run the Boston Marathon...I keep my legs up on a level footrest when sitting & I move my feet doing exercises that I learned in PT believing that he discomfort i due to lack of circulation...it helps....

Yes, left leg hurts and left side of abdomen. It comes and goes. Stretching, moving, medicating, massage. My yoga (for Pwp's) teacher says it helps to moan out loud! My kids wish she hadn't said that :D ! My neuro prescribed xanax and occasionally I take ibuprofen. Makes it hard to fall asleep, but lack of sleep makes it worse. Good luck!

I have night pain and RLS but sometimes the pain carries over into the day. When the pain is severe I take a combination of neurontin, flexeril, and vicodin. It was nice to read the description you all shared about it feeling like a toothache. I've said that when trying to describe my pain. It can be very difficult to control. It might be a good idea to learn about Central Pain Syndrome in PD and talk with your doctor about it. My doctor helped me understand this. I also use meditation when the pain seems to come in waves. I will definitely find a local store where I can purchase tumeric. Thank you all for sharing your experience with pain. It helps to here I'm not alone in this!

WOW!! The Neurotin, Flexeril and Vicodin taken together sounds like a deadly combo. A muscle relaxer and two pain medications. I don't have PD but was given Neurotin when I had shingles. I could not take it as it knocked me out for a long time. The doctor also gave me Lidocane (sp) patches. I had some patches left and cut them to size and put them on my husband's legs when he had pain in them. Worked for him.

Unfortunately, wide spread pain is very difficult to treat. For me, my doctors have tried lots of meds. I will say that this is not an every night regimen. I do have to take neurontin and sinemet at bedtime for milder symptoms. I have a very high tolerance for pain medicines.

Glad to hear it is only an occasional remedy. I have a high tolerence for pain. Only three illnesses have knocked me for a loop and those are migraines, kidney stones and shingles.

I too have this problem. It disappeared totally while I took Requip but I had other problems so I had to come off.

I now take Sinemet 62.5mg and find problems with my legs disappear totally when this is working to it's fullest potential but when it wears off the leg problems kick in again.

I am speaking to my PD Nurse about this tomorrow as I would prefer to control this through my PD Med dosage rather than add ibuprofen etc in as this could cause other problems in the long run.

Will report back.

So many ideas for pain management, what works for me? Hard to pinpoint because it seems different each day. Sometimes just Aleve for everyday pain but it doesn't help the leg cramp, straital toe and foot pain. I use Icy Hot, heating pad, massage, and some days when its really bad, I'll take whatever I can find in the medicine cabinet, its that bad. Soaking my feet in my foot bath, massager machine or a hot tubby can help. When all else fails, a sleeping pill and a few hours sleep. I don't like to think I am suffering with PD, I'm living with PD.
